Open Circle helps people find, join, and host local hacky sack and footbag circles. This policy explains what the app collects and how it is used.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as email address and display name.
- Beta signup details such as email, city, optional host readiness, launch stage, and city needs.
- Profile details you choose to add, including skill level, bio, home area, and photos.
- Circle and session content such as event details, RSVPs, requests, messages, reports, and blocks.
- Approximate or precise location when you grant location permission, used to center the map and show nearby circles.
- Uploaded circle or profile photos and push tokens if those features are enabled.
- Basic technical data needed to operate, secure, and debug the service, such as authentication/session identifiers.
How We Use Information
- To decide which cities are ready for launch.
- To show nearby circles and help hosts manage requests.
- To save your profile, RSVPs, messages, reports, and safety preferences.
- To prevent abuse, investigate reports, and keep the community usable.
- To operate, debug, secure, and improve the app.
Sharing
Your public profile, hosted circles, visible RSVPs, requests that hosts need to review, and messages may be shown to other Open Circle users. Beta signup information is used for launch planning and moderator/operator review. We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers that host, secure, or operate the app, and when required by law.
Location
Location permission is optional. If you allow it, Open Circle uses your device location to center the map and suggest nearby circles. You can turn location access off in your device settings.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account from the profile screen in the app. Account deletion removes your profile, uploaded profile and circle photos, hosted circles and sessions, responses, requests, messages, blocks, push tokens, related reports and notifications, and the live authentication account, subject to records we must retain for security, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.
